About the Author

Pete Drinkwater grew up in a small village in rural England, then went to University to study engineering. During a very varied career, which involved submarines, power stations, ships, and latterly oil and gas facilities, he decided to go back to learning. However, this time would be for pleasure and not as part of work, hence a BA degree in English Literature was light relief from the engineering world of the prior twenty years.

Pete is father to three children and currently calls Glasgow, Scotland, home, although work takes him away for large periods of time, including four years living in Azerbaijan. He tries to keep fit through exercise; latterly marathons but has recently discovered the more varied joy of triathlons and has the motto of ‘never too old to try something new’.

Discovery and The Gold of San Pedro are the first to novels in a series about the adventures of Tom Sharpe. The third, Empires Shall Fall is currently work in progress, hopefully to be published in early 2020.
